Minister pays tribute to victims of snowfall calamity

QUETTA: Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmad Buledi has said the provincial government is firmly in the saddle and will complete its five-year term, adding that it is bringing revolutionary changes in health, education and other sectors.

He was addressing an awards distribution ceremony organised by PDMA in deputy commissioner’s rest house in Pishin to pay tribute to the victims of the snowfall calamity.

He said all the DCs have been given powers to meet the shortage of medicines while budget has been increased in various districts of the province, including 49 rural health centres.

"The budget has been increased as improvement is visible in the education sector as well," Buledi said.

He said providing people a peaceful environment is the first duty of the government.

"Security forces and law enforcement agencies are performing their duties with efficiency," he added.

He said the Balochistan government is taking concrete steps to provide a better system to the people.

"The incumbent government is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the people as PDMA, Levies force and Frontier Corps are making efforts together to deal with the recent changing weather patterns," Buledi said.

The minister hailed services of the PDMA Director General and said the provincial government is taking serious steps to improve the PDMA facilities along with modernising the Levies.

Tributes were paid to the victims of snowfall calamity on the occasion and participants of the ceremony also prayed for the immediate recovery of the injured.

Members of the Provincial Assembly Dinesh Kumar, Asghar Khan Tareen, Abdul Wahid Siddiqi, Provincial Adviser Bilal Kakar, DG Levies Mujeebur Rehman Qambrani, DG PDMA Imran Zarkoon, Pishin Deputy Commissioner Qaim Lashari and others presented awards and shields among the officers who performed extra ordinary services during the recent snowfall.
