Scholars highlight women’s role in progress
Punjab minister for women development emphasises women's contribution to the national economy
The National Women’s Day was observed in Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) on Wednesday to commemorate women achievers of Pakistan at an event organised by the Pakistan Forum for Democratic Policing (PFDP).
Human Rights Deputy Secretary Muhammad Yusuf, Strengthening Partnership Organisation’s (SPO) Regional Head Shahnawaz Khan, Neelam Hussain and other speakers highlighted the role of women in Pakistan.
Speaking at the event, Punjab Minister for Women Development Ashifa Riaz Fatyana emphasised the importance of women in formal and informal sectors, as well as their contribution in the national economy.
She said that women play a vital role in the development of a country.
