The Sindh minister for local government, Agha Siraj Durrani, met Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan at Governor House on Friday. The pair reportedly discussed the proposed amendment in the local government and commissionerate system bills. It was decided that a core committee be formed to amend the local government system. Durrani, Law Minister Ayaz Soomro and Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah, MQM Sindh Assembly parliamentary leader Sardar Ahmed, Raza Haroon and Dr Sagheer Ahmed to be on the committee. Sources said party leaders would meet to propose amendments in the bills, which will then be presented in the assembly.
