The rupee gained slightly on Friday, as it closed at 86.10/15 to the dollar, against 86.20/25 on Thursday. The local unit is likely to hold steady in the days ahead, according to analysts. The rupee hit a record low of 86.50 in May, but has been steady since, largely due to increased remittances from Pakistanis working abroad.
