Education minister inaugurates Lahore Eastern Bypass
Says traffic coming from Sialkot would also benefit from the bypass
LAHORE:
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood inaugurated the Lahore Eastern Bypass at Mehmood Booti on Saturday.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the federal minister congratulated the National High Authority (NHA) over the completion of the project and termed it a great achievement.
The federal minister added the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government had decided to complete ongoing uplift projects.
He further said that the project would facilitate the people from the federal capital as they would not have to go to Thokar Niaz Baig to enter the city. He explained traffic coming from Sialkot would also benefit from the bypass which would have a positive impact on traffic flow.
He stated that 60 per cent of development funds had been released. “The incumbent government was working on various development works as per its manifesto.”
To another query, he remarked that it was illogical that the health treatment of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif could not be carried out in the absence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz.
“The matter was sub judice so it was not appropriate to comment on it.”
He commented that the PTI and its allies were on the same page and did not have any issue. MNA Malik Karamat Khokhar, NHA Chairman Sikandar Qayyum and others were also present on the occasion.
