Proposals sought for new development projects
ACS says 316 ongoing schemes will be completed in 2020-21

Balochistan Planning and Development Additional Chief Secretary Abdul Rehman Buzdar said on Friday 316 ongoing and 518 new development projects would be completed in the province in 2020-21 financial year, according to a statement issued here.
He said this during a strategic planning meeting of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the next financial year presided by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal.
“All departments concerned have been instructed to send proposals of new projects for financial year 2020-21 till February 29 and send them to planning and development department,” said Buzdar.
The ACS added the departments have also been instructed to prepare documents of proposed plans in accordance with guidelines provided by Development Studies Planning Commission and provincial cabinet.
“During the current financial year, 1,607 development schemes were included in the PSDP,” said Buzdar.
Briefing the participants about the details of the projects, the ACS said that the government has allocated funds to complete the development projects out of which 1,555 were new while 352 were in progress.
Kamal directed the authorities concerned, while discussing the proposed schemes for the next fiscal year, to pay special attention to the development projects leading to economic activities in the province.
Focusing on economic oriented development projects for growth of the sector, the chief minister said, “Special attention should be given to projects of infrastructure, real state, tourism and other sectors of public welfare to increase provincial resources.”
He added that funds would be provided for timely completion of the projects in progress.
Considering the need for development projects in education sector, Kamal said, “Professors and students of universities in Balochistan would be consulted to prepare next year’s development projects.”
