Cricket: Vaughan assesses Fletcher role
The former England captain believes that Fletcher’s role is very different for India these days though.
LONDON:
Michael Vaughan has been a keen spectator during the opening two days at Lords, paying special attention to the influence Duncan Fletcher is having on proceedings. The former England captain believes that Fletcher’s role is very different for India these days though, with captain MS Dhoni the main influence on the team’s approach. “The Indian role is a completely different role from the England coaching role,” said Vaughan. “It will be similar to what Gary Kirsten has done with India over the years, very much in the background and helping out with the coaching, tactics and strategy.” Vaughan finished his assessment of Fletcher’s position in the Indian setup by saying that the former England coach will ‘hide behind those shades’ and show little emotion during the Test.
