In compliance with Premier Imran Khan's directives, the Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit (PMDU) has added a new category to the Pakistan Citizen's Portal compliant lodging mechanism to make the process more efficient.

The category which is titled as “Corruption/Malpractices” has been further classified into six sub categories: Financial Corruption, Violation of Merit/Rules, Power Abuse, Fraud/Forgery, Harassment and Inefficiency, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office on Thursday.

"The classification of these various sub kinds has been keenly devised, keeping in view the nature of complaints received on the portal," it added.

According to the communique,  matters regarding corruption fall under the Financial Corruption "whereas irregularities in recruitment, procurement and allotment processes comprise of the Violation of Merit/Rules category".

Similarly favouritism, unauthorised privileges come under the ambit of Power Abuse.

"Harassment, having become one of gravest challenges, is a pertinent subcategory of the Pakistan Citizens’ Portal, where any issue regarding physical/sexual harassment, threatening and blackmailing will be put under this head," the communique read.

With 91% resolution rate, Pakistan Citizen Portal becomes 'voice of people'

Any complaint concerning fake documents and impersonation will be listed under Fraud/Mockery section and cases of absenteeism, red-tapism and non-serious attitude will constitute as Inefficiency, it added.

The PMDU has done this categorisation to facilitate public, as well as to safeguard the integrity and reputation of individuals.

"Moreover, this step will also enable the dashboard handlers/officers to systematically take up, or drop (irrelevant) matters, and hence will accelerate the redressal process."

The primary objective of PMDU is to provide a coherent and an efficient system for the amelioration of public grievances, and to take all necessary steps in this light, said official handout.

The Citizen Portal is an application which was established on the direction of PM Imran to create a robust link between the government and the people of the country.
