Union workers stop KESC employees from entering offices

Union workers refuse to abide by government orders, stop company employees from entering offices.

KARACHI:
The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) workers union has refused to abide by government orders and has stopped company employees from entering their offices, Express 24/7 reported on Friday.

The power company has not been able to resume operations at its service centres due to the non-compliance of the workers union. It has also failed to regain custody of its offices from union members.

Karachi Commissioner Mohammad Hussain Syed had earlier said KESC will resume its field operations from Friday.

KESC had suspended its field operations on Wednesday following security threats to its staff and installations.

The decision to resume its business operations was taken in a meeting at the Governor’s House in Karachi.
