AJK journalists briefed on govt’s efforts to highlight Kashmir issue
Foreign Office renews Pakistan’s ‘unshakeable solidarity with the people of IOJ&K’
ISLAMABAD:
Journalists belonging to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) were briefed by the coordinator of Kashmir cell, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday to highlight the government’s efforts for effectively raising the Kashmir issue at all appropriate fora.
The briefing was also attended by Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui, said a statement issued on Monday.
The foreign ministry officials renewed Pakistan’s “unshakeable solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) and its unflinching resolve and commitment to their legitimate right to self-determination”.
Pakistan says no plan to merge AJK
They also stressed that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute had been and would always remain as the country’s ‘core issue’.
During the briefing, views were also exchanged on various dimensions of the prevailing situation in IOJ&K.
The Kashmiri media delegation appreciated the initiatives taken by the ministry’s Kashmir cell.
