Emissions have risen on average 1.5% annually over the last decade, hitting a record of 55.3 billion tonnes of CO2 or equivalent greenhouse gases in 2018 – three years after 195 countries signed the Paris treaty on climate change.

In an effort to bring down CO2 levels UFORDRIVE has launched UK's first electronic car platform that allows users to rent 100 zero-emissions cars.

The car service will be available in two central London locations, Oxford Street and Park, and soon launch in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush.

The rent of each car is around £90 per day with an option to unlimited free charging at any of the 100,000 charging points that are available around the UK and Europe.

Furthermore, each car is equipped with a built-in, real-time automated navigation system to eradicate range and charge concerns.

UFODRIVE was founded in 2018 by Aidan McClean with the aim to provide a fast-paced, low in emission and easily accessible car rental experience that does not require long queues and paperwork.

The service is already available 24/7 in a number of city and airport locations across eight European countries and has seen 487,000 liters of fuel avoided.

“All travel will become emission-free. It simply has to happen. However,  most people still believe this will only be in the future. The technology exists today for all cars to work perfectly without the environmental impact,” said McClean.

You could simply book the car via the mobile app, and the car is instantly available for use due to keyless access technology.

At present, users can choose between Tesla Model S and Model 3 vehicles however the company plans on to bring other models such as Audi’s E-Tron, in the future.
