LAHORE:
Members of civil society and police units participated in a bicycle rally under the Clean and Green Pakistan programme in the city on Sunday.

The rally, which started from Liberty Market and ended in Defence area, was led by the Dolphin Squad Superintendent of Police (SP), Aisha Butt. Butt said, “Cycling helps maintain mental and physical fitness.”

The SP said she had clear instructions from Deputy Inspector General of Police Rai Babar Saeed that participation in such activities should be facilitated so that the personnel would not only get mentally and physically fit but also perform their duties efficiently.

“Providing clean and green environment to the next generation is our responsibility and such events based on police and public’s partnership should be promoted,” she added. A few days ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan had launched the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign at a school in Islamabad where he said that global warming is a big challenge for Pakistan and such activities are the only solution to tackle the issue.
