K-P CM for timely completion of ‘Peshawar Revival Plan’
Mahmood lauds the ‘Revenue Darbar’ initiative and announces to extend it to other districts

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Sunday directed to ensure the timely completion of a beautification and renovation project for the provincial capital, titled ‘Peshawar Revival Plan’.
This was directed as Mahmood presided over a progress review meeting on the plan and the performance of the Peshawar district administration at the Chief Minister Secretariat, a statement issued on Sunday said.
The chief minister said that the plan to restore and enhance the historical status of Peshawar should be ensured in a phase-wise manner. He also directed to involve lawmakers elected from the city in uplift initiatives.
He appreciated the efforts of Peshawar’s district administration to launch a ‘Revenue Darbar’ under which services including domicile, mutation, revenue transcript, land records, registry and other documents are being provided to the public on the spot.
The chief minister noted that given the success of the Revenue Darbar, the idea will also be extended to other districts of the province.
CM Mahmood further directed to take strict action against drug dealers, with proper steps to be undertaken for the rehabilitation of drug addicts in the provincial capital.
He sought a report from the K-P Social Welfare Department regarding the progress so far made on rehabilitation of drug addicts.
Mahmood also directed to take concrete steps to discourage the use of uncertified gas cylinders in vehicles
The chief minister told informed that in the past nine months, the Peshawar district administration has resolved 58 land acquisition cases. Moreover, two Revenue Darbars have also been set up during this time, in which 250 complaints have been resolved on the spot.
The meeting was also informed about the upcoming anti-polio campaign and the improvements made in the overall law and order situation of the provincial capital.
The meeting was told that under the ‘Peshawar Revival Plan’, so far 115 shop signboards have been removed and replaced with signs which are of a standard size. Moreover, as many as 1,000 plants have been planted near the Bacha Khan Flyover.
It was added that the estimated cost of the revival plan is Rs45 million, and includes activities described under clean and green activities.
The meeting was also briefed about a traffic management plan for Peshawar. The chief minister was told that the cost of the short-term plan is Rs211.492 million.
The chief minister appreciated the proposed plan and said that the initiatives would make provincial capital a tourist destination. He announced that the plan would also be extended to other divisional headquarters and major cities of the province.
