In 2019, an estimated 158 million devices were shipped to India, making it the second-largest market for smartphones surpassing the US, according to a new report published by Counterpoint Research.
Despite this, China still remains the global leader in the smartphone market and India’s sudden rise to second-place is much to do with Chinese smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, and Realme that collectively have shipped 72% of devices to India.
