IMC gets law directorate

The directorate has a panel of 26 lawyers who will pursue dozens of cases pending in SC, IHC, Environmental Courts

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) has launched its law directorate to deal with its cases pending in the courts and other legal issues.

Machine Pool Organisation (MPO) Director Umer Sagheer has been given additional charge of Law Director, while Supreme Court Advocate Qazi Adil has been appointed as IMC’s legal adviser and Advocate Chaudhry Nadeem Gujjar as assistant legal adviser.

The directorate has a panel of 26 lawyers who will pursue dozens of cases pending in Supreme Court, Islamabad High Court, Environmental Courts, and before the federal ombudsman. The panel will provide readily available legal consultation to IMC.

Moreover, all legal matters will be dealt under the supervision of legal adviser. Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz said that the corporation desparatley needed a legal directorate to deal with litigations in various courts.
