CM discusses development projects with PM, federal minister

Kamal also exchanged views on the prevailing political situation with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain

ISLAMABAD:
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal discussed progress on development projects and other issues of the province with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday in Islamabad, according to a statement issued by PM office.

Meanwhile, Kamal also exchanged views on the prevailing political situation in the country with Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in another meeting.

Appreciating Hussain’s efforts for democracy, the CM said, “The former prime minister is a seasoned politician and always urges to find solution to problematic situations through positive proposals.”

According to a press release, Hussain reiterated PML-Q’s support of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.

“The government is putting solemn efforts in addressing reservations of its allies,” added Hussain.

Standing Committee on Energy Chairman Salik Hussain and Provincial Minister Zamrak Khan were also present during the meeting.


Meanwhile, Kamal discussed progress of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and provincial Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) with Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar at Balochistan House in Islamabad.

Kamal stressed implementation of projects under PSDP allocated for Balochistan urging the federal minister to assist in expansion of Quetta-Karachi and Quetta-Zhob highways.

Assuring the CM full support of the centre, Umar said, “The federal government will continue supporting Balochistan government in uplifting development projects and provision of facilities for people.”

The federal minister also announced a strong mechanism to review and monitor federal government schemes in Balochistan.
