Laws against Ahmadis

LONDON:
This is with reference to Fasi Zaka’s article “I never really cared for Ahmadis” (June 15). There is no doubt that all religious minorities in Pakistan suffer, but not a single one of them has constitutional laws directed against them, and an insulting and hurtful column in the state’s ID card and passport applications. On a side note, I think it’s quite unfair to call Ahmadis ’secretive’. Some may be, out of fear of their lives, but many are not. I myself told everyone openly, happily, and proudly that I’m an Ahmadi at school/college and university.
