Hundreds of people took to the streets, set tyres on fire, and blocked the railway track and Indus Highway in a protest against 18 to 20 hours of power outage. All shops and businesses were closed at Hyderabad Road, Lums Market, Shahi Bazaar and other areas. The protesters accused the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company employees of corruption and extorting money from them.
