Gas explosion leaves man dead
A bomb disposal squad confirmed that the blast occurred due to gas leakage and there were no traces of explosives

An explosion occurred in a house located in Mehmoodabad on Monday, killing one person and leaving three others injured.
Upon hearing the explosion, area residents initiated rescue attempts and tried to clear the debris, while police and Rangers officials arrived at the spot. The victims were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
According to JPMC executive director Dr Seemin Jamali, the injured included Umair Qureshi, 35, his wife Sadaf, 28 and Naseem Bano, 65, while a man, identified as Kanti Raja, 42, had passed away before reaching the hospital. After receiving first aid, the injured were transferred to the burns ward at Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital.
According to Baloch Colony DSP Rana Sadiq, the explosion occurred due to leakage from a gas pipeline on the ground floor of the three-storey house. Raja and Bano were passing by the house when the explosion occurred, causing a wall to collapse onto Raja.
