Thieves steal valuable worth Rs30m from house

KARACHI: Saddar police registered on Friday a robbery case where thieves had fled with cash and valuables worth Rs30 million from the residence of a retired colonel.
At least six armed men barged into the house of Muhammad Ramzan, near School Road in Cantt, early on Sunday morning. Ramzan, who filed the case with the police, claimed that armed men entered his room with his son around 5am, waking him up. He narrated that they pointed their guns at him and took them into another room, where his family members, security guard, servants and two friends of his son were blindfolded.
He said that the thieves plundered the house and fled by 6am. According to his statement, cash, jewellery and foreign currency worth around Rs30 million were looted in the robbery.
When contacted, Saddar DSP Kunwar Asif said that police arrived at the spot soon after receiving the complaint to inspect the scene. He added that they were carrying out investigations into the incident.
