MQM allotted opposition benches in Sindh Assembly

MQM leader Raza Haroon says party considering four names for leader of the Opposition.

KARACHI:
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has been allotted opposition benches in the Sindh Assembly, Express 24/7 reported on Thursday.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, MQM leader Raza Haroon said the party was considering four names for leader of the Opposition.

Sources have revealed that the names of MQM leaders Raza Haroon, Faisal Sabzwari and Syed Sardar Ahmed are being considered for the post.

The MQM had parted ways with the government, on both the federal and provincial level, after the postponement of elections for Azad Jammu & Kashmir LA-30 and LA-36 seats.

MQM’s provincial governor, provincial and federal ministers had tendered their resignations but the PPP persuaded its coalition partner to bring the governor back to his post.

Governor Sindh, Inshratul Ebad recently returned to Pakistan after MQM chief Altaf Hussain asked him to take back his resignation and resume his duties.
