Twitter rolls out emoji reactions for DMs
New feature includes seven reactions similar to the ones available in Facebook Messenger and Apple’s iMessage
Twitter has introduced emoji reactions for direct messages, it announced in a tweet.
The new feature includes seven reactions similar to the ones available in Facebook Messenger and Apple’s iMessage. The emoji reactions are ready to use in direct messages on the Twitter web, iOS, and Android apps.
To add an emoji reaction, hover over the message and click/tap on the heart button which Twitter calls a ‘reaction button’. You can also double-tap on the message and select an emoji reaction after the pop-up.

Click or tap on a reaction in a conversation to view who reacted to the message. Additionally, all conversation participants will receive a notification any time a new reaction is added to a message.
Older versions of the Twitter for iOS or Android app will see reactions displayed as text-based messages, says Twitter.
