Murder: Man strangled to death
ISLAMABAD:
A man was strangled to death in the Bhara Kahu area. The deceased was identified as Farooq Ahmed, 50, a labourer from Sargodha, the police sources said. Farooq and his son Karamat were last known to be working on a house owned by Afzal in Sunghulyan, in the outskirt of Bhara Kahu. The incident came to light when some labourers spotted the body in the under-construction house and informed the police. The police reached the spot and shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical sciences (Pims) for autopsy. The autopsy report confirmed that Farooq had been strangled to death. After receiving news of his father’s death, Karamat went to Afzal’s house to find out what happened, but Afzal had apparently gone to Afghanistan a day earler. Farooq had been strangled with a piece of cloth as marks were found around his neck, police said. The police registered a case against the unidentified murderers and handed over the body to Farooq’s family.
