During the meeting he directed the police to keep close eye on criminals. “Police should maintain record of criminals and migrated citizens to the province in order to control crime,” he said.
“Moreover, the force should strengthen relations with tribal elders to decrease street crimes, terrorism and other illicit activities,” Cheema added. He also directed for monitoring liquor and gambling spots in the provincial capital.
Lauding the performance of Eagle Force, which patrol the streets of Quetta, the DIG said, “Eagle squads have eliminated criminal and other illicit activities from the streets of the provincial capital.” Cheema said the force patrolled the streets of the provincial capital 24-hours.
Talking on the complaints against attitude of Eagle squad, the DIG said, “The police have directed Eagle Force to treat people with respect and they are not allowed to check registration documents of vehicles because it is the domain of traffic police.”
He added that the police department was in process of providing cameras to traffic police and the Eagle Force in order to monitor their behaviour. “The Eagle Force has been directed to pursue orders of Station House Officers (SHO) of their respected areas,” he said.
