Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) raided Quetta airport road, sealed 15 meat shops over selling unhealthy items to citizens, fined various meat and poultry shops and warned other shopkeepers against selling low quality food items.
BFA Director General Ibrahim Baloch has constituted two teams in order to crack down against vendors selling low quality food items imperiling human lives.
Earlier, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal and Chief Secretary Capt (retd) Fazeel Asghar has directed BFA to commence operation against outlets selling unhygienic food including oil, milk and mineral water. It was also informed that the food items were being smuggled from Sindh and other provinces.
The food authority has also raided wholesale markets in provincial capital confiscating unhealthy cooking oil being smuggled from Sindh.
