Instagram tests DM feature for web version

The social media platform Instagram recently announced the company is testing out direct messaging for its web version.

According to The Verge, the new feature will enable desktop users to have access to the mobile app's DM functions like creating groups, creating chats, liking chat messages.

Users will also be able to see the number of unread messages and get desktop notifications of DMs.

The new feature is to be added so users could “stay in touch with the people you care about,” told Instagram spokesperson to The Verge.
