PIMS could get shelter home
The speaker stressed the need to expand shelters in the federal capital
ISLAMABAD:
The government is mulling a plan to utilise the empty space in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) to set up another ‘panahgah’ or shelter home in the federal capital.
The initiative came under discussion at a meeting chaired by National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser on Wednesday regarding the establishment of shelter homes and public soup kitchens (langars).
A statement issued on Wednesday stated that the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Panahgah Coordinator Rosh Dil Khan Hoti, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza and representatives of the ICT Administration briefed Qaiser about the recent developments regarding establishment of shelter homes.
The speaker stressed the need to expand shelters in the federal capital.
The meeting deliberated the possibility of establishing panahgah at Pims for patients and their attendants, where food and lodging will be provided free of cost as per the vision of the prime minister.
