100 MQM-H men to apply to MQM

Members of faction apologise to Altaf Hussain for leaving his group.

KARACHI:

More than one hundred members of the Mohajir Quami Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) announced they were leaving the breakaway faction and asking Altaf Hussain to take them back into the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

“We separated ourselves from the MQM and joined the Afaq struggle on the basis of language but after some time we realised that Afaq was not serious about the Mohajir nation’s cause and he just used the word ‘Mohajir’ to win people’s sympathy,” said MQM-H’s joint secretary, Zafar Aziz, at a press conference on Wednesday.

Aziz said that the Sindh senior minister, Zulfiqar Mirza, spoke about his meetings with Afaq Ahmed and praised him while at the same time Mirza used abusive language against their forefathers. “If he uses abusive language against the Mohajir nation, he cannot be our friend,” said Aziz.

He added that, “now we are forced to think that Afaq Ahmed is not one of us, in fact he is an agent of people such as Zulfiqar Mirza who are enemies of Mohajirs.”

Aziz said that all those who wanted to leave the MQM-H had different responsibilities in the Afaq group. He said that they hoped Altaf Hussain would pardon them and let them join his movement so that they could play a part in giving people their rights.

Aziz was accompanied by MQM-H’s sector in-charge of Shah Faisal Colony, Saeed Manoon, a former candidate for the provincial assembly, Abdul Aleem, and other members of the MQM-H.
