Nine militants killed in Kurram Agency

Security forces, militants clash. Five security officials, including a Major, injured during clashes.

PESHAWAR:
Nine militants were killed during clashes with security forces in Kurram Agency on Wednesday.

Security forces targeted and destroyed militant hideouts in the Zaimasht area.


Five security officials, including a Major, were injured during the clashes. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.

Security forces also recovered a large number of weapons from these hideouts.

The army has launched an air and ground offensive in Kurram region on the Afghan border, its first major military operation since the May 2 killing of Osama bin Laden.
