Timergara TMO told to fill dug-up road
He discovered that the TMA had authorised an Rs1.8 million project to set up street lights
The Timergara TMO was asked on Friday to fill up dug up sections of a narrow road in the Talash Bazaar.
This was directed as Finance Officer Hafeezullah visited the market on Friday to review progress on a project to set up streetlights in the market.
The Lower Dir deputy commissioner had received complaints that the project remains incomplete while the road had been dug up at two points choking traffic. Hafeezullah visited that market and reviewed documents of the project.
He discovered that the Timergara Town Municipal Administration (TMA) had authorised an Rs1.8 million project to set up street lights mounted atop 18 poles in the market.
However, he also found that the contractor had dug up the road at two spots for passage of the cable from the transformer to the poles. This choked traffic passing on the road. The TMO has been directed to cover the spots using premixed concrete.
