Accident Case: SC seeks explanation from magistrate

a colonel who was killed in an accident with former chief secretary Javed Mehmood’s official car 18 months ago

LAHORE:
The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked a magistrate to explain why no trial had begun in the case of a colonel who was killed in an accident with former chief secretary Javed Mehmood’s official car 18 months ago. Petitioner Azam Ikram, the colonel’s son, wants a murder case registered against Mehmood and not just his driver. He said Mehmood had fled the scene after the accident rather than help his father, who could have been saved given prompt medical care.
