Ex-mayor booked over corruption
Booked for alleged embezzlement of Rs200million, incorrect classifications of Friday and Sunday Bazaars

A case has been registered against the former Faisalabad Mayor Abdul Razzaq Malik along with five officials of the municipal corporation for alleged embezzlement of Rs200million and incorrect classifications of Friday and Sunday Bazaars.
The involvement of contractors and others in this fraud would be investigated in also in the offing.
Labour member of former municipal corporation member, Shiraz Ahsaan Kahlo, registered a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Director General that Abdul Razzaq Malik in collusion with Finance Officer Mujibur Rehman Shami, former head clerk Khalid Mahmood Shami, Personal Assistant Muhammad Akram, former superintendent Khalid Mahmood and Assistant Tax Superintendent Javed Iqbal did not submit Rs200 million to national exchequer and misappropriating the cash collected via Sunday Bazars as well as contract auctions of the 150 makeshift weekly markets. The mayor along with Municipal Corporation Finance Officer of Mujibur Rehman Shami and others caused a heavy loss of Rs200 million to the national exchequer by misappropriating the cash collected via Sunday Bazaars.
