KARACHI:
Karachi Police released on Monday two brothers, Taimur and Sheharyar, who were beaten by the citizen in North Karachi on January 4, over their suspected involvement in a robbery bid.

According to police, no evidence of their involvement in any crime was found and no one had come forward to register a case against them. The brothers have expressed ignorance about the reason behind them getting a beating at the hands of the citizens and refused to file a complaint against the mob that attacked them with sticks and rods, the police said.

In his statement to the police, Taimur had said he and his brother were employed at a factory and were on their way to Surjani Town, on a motorcycle, when they were attacked. He claimed that 60 to 70 people had attacked them and hadn’t asked any questions from the two before beating them.

Police had intervened as they were being beaten and shifted them to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
