Formula One: Heidfeld upbeat ahead of German GP
Heidfeld has finished in the points in the previous two races.

Nick Heidfeld says that his Renault team is ready to take a ‘significant step forward’ in terms of performance in order to close the gap its rivals, particularly Mercedes. Although Heidfeld has finished in the points in the previous two races, he expects recent upgrades to propel the team even further. “I know that there are some bigger developments coming than we had at the last couple of races,” said Heidfeld. “We’ve had to demonstrate our patience during what were a couple of challenging races recently, but now is the time for us to take that step forward and compete with the top teams again.”
