As many as 109 posts in the Rawalpindi Forest Department— north zone have been lying vacant for the past year.
The relevant authorities have turned a blind eye to the vacant seats of various categories in the related zone.
Moreover, the south circle office of the department has been working with only three employees since the start of 2019.
Of the posts lying vacant, two are for superintendents, three for assistants, a stenographer, six senior clerks, 10 junior clerks and eight posts for employees in basic pay scale (BPS) grad-8.
A senior forest official told The Express Tribune that they the department has repeatedly written to the relevant authorities for recruitment on the vacant posts so that the department may operate efficiently, but the request has been ignored.
