NIH to increase anti-rabies serum production: official

NIH will also produce Anti-snake venom serum, anti-tetanus serum and anti-diphtheria serum

ISLAMABAD:
National Institute of Health (NIH) will increase production of anti-rabies serum to end shortages in public healthcare sector.

NIH Executive Director Aamer Ikram said this while briefing National Assembly Standing Committee on Health during its visit to the institution on Friday.

Besides, anti-rabies, NIH will also produce Anti-snake venom serum, anti-tetanus serum and anti-diphtheria serum.


Committee Chairman Khalid Hussain Magsi and members visited different divisions and departments of NIH and learnt about the working of the institution.

Ikram said NIH was working to implement the IHR-2005 and Global Health Security Agenda in the country to achieve the international health standards. Magsi and other members also appreciated the new initiatives and projects being implemented by NIH.
