ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Secretary on Interior Shaukat Ali informed the National Assembly on Thursday that the old Lake View Park will be reopened within 30 days for visitors. Responding to a call-to-attention notice, moved by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MNA Ali Nawaz Awan and Nafeesa Inayatullah Khattak about the closure of the old Lake View Park, Ali said that the park had been closed in 2013 owing to poor law and order situation in the city.

But since the situation has improved, the park will be reopened. He said the park is controlled by the Punjab government but is located within the jurisdiction of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

He added the inspector general of Islamabad Police, the deputy commissioners of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and Punjab irrigation secretary have been asked to visit the area and hold further consultations.
