K-P govt okays Peshawar beautification plan
CM Mahmood Khan green-lights programme
PESHAWAR:
The provincial government on Thursday approved a plan to beautify the provincial capital by addressing civic problems there, including illegal billboards, temporary encroachments, banners, flags, redundant poles, iron structures, rusted vehicles, tuff pavers, kerbstones and broken streetlights.
The plan, titled ‘Peshawar Revival Plan’ was prepared on the direction of K-P CM Mahmood Khan. Created with a theme “New Peshawar Old Charm”, it focuses on efficient regulation with fewer financial implications by the Peshawar Development Authority, the Tehsil Municipal Authorities, local government and the district administration.
Chairing a meeting at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar on Thursday to review the plan, Mahmood said that once implemented, it will be extended to other divisional headquarters and major cities of the province.
