'Messiah' throws Twitter in a frenzy

The Netflix series based on Dajjal is out and users are questioning the version of false Messiah depicted

When the trailer of Netflix’s ‘Messiah’ came out in 2019, Pakistan’s Twitterati were in a fix as #Dajjal became one of the top trends on the micro-blogging site.

Now that the series has come out, it is trending number 1 on Pakistani Twitter again with people questioning the version of the false Messiah depicted.

The show follows a man who resembles the Islamic appearance of Hazrat Isa (AS) and claims to be a messiah after putting a raft of miracles on display. It goes onto show how this divine entity or con artist, played by Mehdi Dehbi, is being investigated by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who are baffled by his ‘miracles’ and are unwilling to buy into his claims.

'Messiah' is created by Michael Petroni and has a 7.4 IMDB rating. The series has sparked several questions with several users condemning others from watching the show at all - claiming that it has been created to manipulate and confuse people.

Some users however, believe the show to be well put together, without being controversial at all.
