DC orders strict action against ghost teachers

Quetta Deputy Commissioner Aurangzeb Badini has taken notice of the absenteeism of teachers from schools and ordered strict action against them.
“The salary of absent teachers will be deducted,” said the deputy commissioner while chairing a meeting of the District Education Officers Committee the other day in the provincial capital.
The participants of the meeting were told that the education department had collected Rs2 million following the salary deduction of ghost teachers, while 32 teachers had been dismissed from service over absenteeism.
In order to make the non-functional schools operational in Quetta, Badini said that efforts were underway to handover the government land to the education department.
He directed the authorities to ensure impartiality in distribution of funds for government schools and said that data of all schools and seminaries should be submitted in the DC office.
The meeting agreed to fill vacant posts in education department after consensus with the finance secretary.
The deputy commissioner said that the society cannot progress unless quality education was imparted on children.
He directed the heads of all public schools to ensure that stringent security measures were in place at their educational institutions.
