Indian director Kabir Khan feels his 'Muslim identity is being rubbed in his face'

He also mentioned that the political backdrop of the country is an integral part of the entertainment industry

Bajrangi Bhaijaan director, Kabir Khan has penned down an article for The Indian Express to voice his views about the ongoing socio-political crisis in India.

Touching upon the ongoing protests, he also mentioned how he feels disheartened being identified as Muslim in these times.

Former scholar at Jamia Millia Islamia College, regarded as the epicenter of the protests against CAA, Kabir highlighted a grave sentiment that has taken over India - under which questioning the federal government is equated to questioning the nation.

“The Jamia incident is the end result of so many wrongs that we’ve been witness to. We’ve to make an enabling ambiance possible in universities as opposed to labeling college students as a part of a ‘tukde tukde gang’ or placing them in jails," wrote Kabir.


"We don’t all need to change into political activists. We must always simply have the ability to specific our opinions as regular residents, with out concern," he continued, also mentioning that the political backdrop of the country is an integral part of the entertainment industry as well.

Kabir's next release 83 is based on cricketing legend Kapil Dev, and will star Ranveer Singh as Dev.
