Enhancing Relations: Pak-Romania friendship association formed

Ambassador took the decision and appointed new office-bearers for the association in a meeting held at his residence

To enhance and strengthen relations between Pakistan and Romania, the Ambassador of Romania in Pakistan, Emilian Ion, has re-activated the Pakistan-Romania Friendship Association.


The ambassador took the decision and appointed new office-bearers for the association in a meeting held at his residence here on Monday.


The ambassador will serve as the patron of the association, while other appointments included Syed Ahmed to serve as president, Wazir Jugazai as senior vice-president, Anwer Moin as vice-president, Atif Farooqui as secretary general, Zehra Villani as chief of protocol and secretariat and Ansar Bhatti as media advisor.

The Romanian ambassador hoped the association will work wholeheartedly to cement relations between the two brotherly countries. He assured the new members that the Romanian embassy will always be there to help them in times of need.

He announced to organize a series of cultural events, including a gypsy festival in Lahore, under the aegis of this association.
