Construction of girls college completed

After more than a decade, construction work on the Government Girls Degree College in Saddar has finally been completed.
Work to paint and renovate the structure is expected to be completed by January 30, 2020, while admissions in the college are expected to start by the time the new educational year begins.
In this regard, the Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff for the college will be completed by mid-February.
The foundation of the college had been laid by former dictator General (retired) Pervez Musharraf, however, construction work was halted by former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif after which the project was shelved.
The college building has been completed after a period of 12 years.
