According to shopkeepers from nearby markets, they found out about the incident after an employee of one of the travel agencies visited the respective office Wednesday afternoon and found that the grill at the back of the office was broken. The employee then informed the travel agent of the incident and he, as well as the owners of other offices, soon reached the spot, they said. They added that it appeared that the robbers had climbed a ladder to reach the first floor of the building from the back and had broken grills to enter the offices. The robbers then stole the valuables kept inside safe boxes.

Suspecting the involvement of eight to 10 persons in the robbery, they said that the safe boxes were very sturdy and could only be broken by "professional robbers." They further said that the robbers managed to commit the crime despite the presence of security guards and reckoned that the presence of an empty plot located behind the building would have made it easier for them to access the offices.
On being informed of the incident, police sealed the offices and called for a team of forensic analysts, who have collected the fingerprints of the offices' owners.
Several incidents of a similar nature have been reported from Saddar previously, as Preedy Police seemed to be failing to control the increasing number of robberies in the area. In light of this development, traders have appealed to Sindh IGP Dr Kaleem Imam to depute competent officials at Preedy Police Station so that criminal activities in the area can be curbed.
