QUETTA:
Haji Jumma Khan Badezai, the former president of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), has been elected the chairman of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) unopposed.

Addressing a news conference, Farooq Khilji, the patron-in-chief of the QCCI, said the annual elections of the FPCCI were being held on December 27 in Karachi in which the presidents of all chambers and executive members would participate.

He added that Badezai had been elected the chairman of the FPCCI unopposed, but the QCCI members would vote for the Progressive Group in the polls.

“Balochistan’s votes have gained importance in the FPCCI elections with a strength of up to 60.  This will address the issues of the province’s traders, particularly those doing business on provincial borders,” he said.

Replying to a query, Khilji said the president would be elected from Punjab. QCCI Vice President Badaruddin Kakar vowed to strive for the rights of province’s businessmen community.
