Sacked employees to be reinstated
The Sindh government prepared a list for the restoration of employees sorted according to departments.
KARACHI:
The Sindh government has decided to restore all employees who were appointed during Pakistan Peoples Party’s second government but were removed during Nawaz Sharif and Pervez Musharraf’s tenures.
The Express Tribune learnt that the government has prepared a list, sorted according to department, and the restoration of employees would be announced at a press conference. The conference is likely to be held by senior minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and Law Minister Ayaz Soomro.
Earlier, the government had tasked Mirza and Soomro with the job. A year ago, they were told to look into how many employees appointed by the PPP had been sacked. “I cannot tell you the exact numbers of the employees, but the list has been prepared,” said sources.
The government has decided to extend the upper age limit for a government job by another year. The 28-year limit was earlier on extended to 43 by the present government. Now, one more year has been added and a notification has been issued by the services, general administration and coordination department.
