LAHORE:
The incumbent government had introduced multiple campaigns and drives to combat climate change, said Provincial Minister for Environment Protection Department Muhammad Rizwan.

“The campaigns introduce by the PTI-led government include the Billion Tree Tsunami and Clean Green Pakistan programme.” He expressed these views while speaking to media persons on the inauguration ceremony of Clean & Green Index (CGPI), Punjab on Tuesday. Over the last decade, Lahore had lost about 70 per cent of its tree cover as the city became an urban centre, he added.

In the initial phase of CGPI, 19 cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Multan, DG Khan, Okara and Bahawalpur have been selected to compete on certain issues of public interest.
