Musical play ‘Madness’ staged at PCA
Punjab Council of the Arts director appreciated its director and cast for painting a mirror for society
RAWALPINDI:
A dream, a joke and bizarre consequences would rarely conjure the visuals of a musical play, but ‘Madness’, staged at the Punjab Council of the Arts in Rawalpindi delivered exactly that.
Written and directed by Suraj Arman Khan, ‘Madness’ is a comedy wrapped in a musical as it takes a sarcastic and at times self-depreciative view of our society, politics and some the issues that plague it.
The story is set in a mental hospital and the malady that plays out between patients and the team of doctors there. Using the setting and the characters as metaphors for real-life societal problems, mayhem ensues in the hospital through some comical setups complete with mock dharnas.
Punjab Council of the Arts director appreciated its director and cast for painting a mirror for society.
