AJK elections: Polling for LA-17 Poonch-1 begins
A total of 76,393 registered voters will cast their vote.
The polling for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly’s LA-17 Poonch-1 seat began on Monday.
Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) candidate Amjad Yousaf, Muslim Conference’s Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi and Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Chaudhry Yaseen Gulshan contested for the seat.
The polling will continue till 5pm and a total of 76,393 registered voters will cast their vote.
More than 3000 security personnel were also deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
Earlier, the elections on this seat were called off due to security concerns.
