Garment warehouse catches fire

Several people were present at the spot, no casualties reported

KARACHI: A garment warehouse on the seventh floor of a building at Zaibunnisa Street caught fire on Wednesday.

Four fire tenders and one snorkel arrived at the spot after receiving the complaint and took one and a half hour to extinguish the blaze. According to the fire department officials, a warehouse comprising three to four shops was set up on the seventh floor, where the fire erupted around 12am. Several people were present there, but they were safely evicted.

The cooling process continued for some hours after the fire was extinguished. The losses and the cause of the fire could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
